Where Every Shot Revolves Around You!

Well, I wish I could say I became a photographer because I was a model and wanted to be on the other side of the camera or because I ran into Annie Leibovitz who took one look at me and said "you should be a photographer". But, NO, that's not it at all. I became a photographer because I simply fell in love with the idea of creating beautiful images.
Now, to those who know me, they know that I learn so much more from being in the trenches of what it is I want to learn. I believed that in order to be the best in this field I needed to learn from the best. For years I tried earnestly to teach myself, but I still didn't understand any of those settings that were all over my camera (chuckle). So, in 2002 I combined my passion for photography with the desire to own my own business and sought out to find a mentor who was willing to teach me what I needed to know. To my joy I made a phone call that literally changed my life. I finally found the photographer who would be willing to take me under his wing to mentor me - that photographer was Andrei Jackamets.
I will never forget the day I sat in his office for the first time - I was so nervous. But he encouraged me, as a novice, to go for it and to always want more in this profession. He saw my early work and he praised me and the passion I had for the industry. Ever since that moment, I have never looked back.
Since then, I've tried my hand at different areas of photography - weddings, interior, food, etc. But none have brought me more joy than working with women business owners and executives and doing photo shoots for models/actors/musicians.
Why? Because it's fun. It allows for something new each time I shoot. I love the challenge of working with the corporate woman who isn't exactly sure of what she is able to do in front of a camera and then getting her an image that is fiercely her (yes I love Tyra). But, I also love working with models and actors because they bring something completely different to a set...a free to be me mentality where we are able to create so many different images that are fun and unrestricted.
I'm honored to call myself a photographer and be a part of the most phenomenal profession there is on the face of this earth!
I look forward to creating for you,
Juliet
